Since we have a long weekend coming up, wanted to give you a present to enjoy during your time off. Here is a list of current Dean/Cas recs, a lot of these are podfic form and I'll link to both text and podfic. These are all ones I really, really liked and have listened to recently.

Last updated: 09/25/2012

Title: Absolution
File: Text l Audiobook
Author: wolfling & omphalos
Rating: complete: NC-17
Characters: Dean/Castiel, Sam, others
Spoilers: aired s4 episodes
Warnings: religious themes, slash, het
Summary: Against his better judgement, Castiel offers Dean a way to save Sam.
A/N: This story goes AU from directly after Sex & Violence when we started writing it. However, some aspects of canon revealed by episodes aired since have been squeezed in. :)
A/N2: While this fic is Dean/Castiel, Sam is very much the third main character and every bit as important to the story as Dean and Castiel.

Title: A Judicious Application of Free Will
Format: Text
Rating: NC-17
Pairing/Characters: Dean/Castiel, Mary/John, Sam/Jess, Anna, Zachariah, others.
Genre: Alternate reality, first time, romance, angst, mystery
Summary: Dean lives the simple life in Lawrence, running the family business at Winchester Hardware. When Castiel moves into the neighborhood, they strike up a friendship that has the chance to become something more. But before that can run its course, the secrets of Castiel’s past catch up with them both, and their whole world changes.

Title: And I Wake Up Blind, Like My Dreams Were Too Bright
File: Audiobook l Text
Characters: Jimmy, Cas/Dean
Warnings: Language
Rating: PG-13
Summary: In which case, Jimmy is suddenly a stranger to the angel that resides in his body and Jimmy is trully helpless is the angel won't even believe the voice in his head.
Rec note: This was a little slow for me at first, but then it got REALLY good. It's funny how you find yourself sharing Jimmy's reactions to things going on around him. You want to scream when he does. You punch air when he cheers in victory. Fayjay is a FABULOUS reader.

Title: And I Will Walk on Water
File: Text l Audiobook
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Rape/non-con. It's already happened, so you don't read it, but it's still enough it might bother you. And will break your heart. It gets better. You may need a hug though.
Summary: It's a story about friendship and love, recovery and trust, free will, and Dean and Castiel's journey through it all. It's also about chocolate and hugs. If you read it, I really hope you enjoy it. I loved it.

Title: Apocrypha, or: How Chuck Learned to Stop Worrying and Love His Red Pen
Files: Text l Audiobook
Rating: R
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Spoilers: Through 4x22
Length: ~7,600 words
Summary: In which Bobby is kind of a dick, Sam skips out on dish duty, Castiel attempts to acquire a hobby, Dean does inappropriate things with jam, and Chuck’s not sure what story he’s writing anymore.

Title: Asunder
Files: Text l Audiobook
Rating: R
Pairings: Dean/Cas, Sam/Ruby
Summary: AU. It's going to be a shitty wedding with shitty people and a shitty atmosphere and Dean feels shitty about going.

Title: Brother Lover
Rating: PG-13
Files: Text l Audiobook
Pairing: Sam/Cas (JUST KIDDING. Dean/Cas.)
Summary: "However- and it doesn't happen a lot- they have to invoke 'I saw her first'. Not that Cas is a girl. Because he isn't."

Title: The Consequences of Falling
Rating: NC-17
Files: Audiobook l Text
Writen/Read by: Fayjay
Pairing: Dean/Cas, Sam/Ruby
Summary: Castiel willingingly defies orders from Heaven and it sets his life on a completely different course, one he's not quite sure what to do with. Alchohol and french fries with a demon, not to mention waking up next to a warm body the next morning... well, it's not what he was expecting.

Title: Convenient Husbands
Files: Text l Audiobook
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Genre: AU, friendship, first time, marriage of convenience, soulbonding, humor, fluff, bickering and flirting
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Summary:  "It's only temporary, right?" Dean says. "Just until you're healed up, and then we'll never have to see each other again. So what do you say, Castiel, do you want to marry me or not?"

Title: Everyone Knows What Happens at the Library
Author: exmanhater
Rating: PG-13
Files: Text l Audiobook
Album cover: Made by me
Spoilers: none
Warnings: none
Summary: In which Dean says derogatory things about teen vampire novels, Castiel keeps coming back for more, Claire gets her way all the time, and Dean’s co-workers (and Sam) are huge nuisances. (Librarian!Dean AU, or how Stephenie Meyer found Dean the love of his life)

Title: How Traditions Get Started
Files: Text l Audiobook
Pairing: Dean/Castiel, various random flirtations
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: 6x03
Warnings: crack, complete and utter crack
Summary: Michael and Lucifer are currently fighting over the peas, and no one is coming out of that with their dignity intact.

Title: It's Always The End of the World Somewhere
Pairing/Characters: Castiel/Dean, Castiel/Crowley, Anna, Sam, others, Dean/Bela (briefly), Sam/Jess
Files: Text l Audiobook
Genre: Highschool AU, first time, angst
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Contains: Teenage smoking and drinking [participants are eighteen], mentions of recreational drug use [user is eighteen], brief bullying and homophobia, underage kissing [participants are below sixteen], mention of a student propositioning and being rejected by a teacher

Title: On the Wings of War
Rating: NC-17
Files: Text l Audiobook
Album Cover: Here
Summary: The four Horsemen are not just people with fancy rings. They aren’t even demons with fancy rings. They are another species entirely, a force unto themselves, and Lucifer is kidding himself if he thinks that they are at his beck and call. They are separate. They are neutral. Dean Winchester is not built like them.
AN: Spoilers up to 5.14, at which point events diverge...dramatically. Stand by for copious gore, transformation, blasphemously inaccurate appropriation of Revelations and Lovecraftian horrors, oh my! I like my Apocalypse like I like my coffee—dark, and filtered with the blood of my enemies. Yes. Okay.

Title: Props
Rating: PG-13
Format: Text
Genre: AU, fusion, anachronistic fairytale crack, fluff, schmoop, angst
Summary: Ten conversations Castiel and Dean had while under a curse, and one they had after the curse was broken. A fusion with Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Title: The Path We Choose
Rating: PG-13
Files: Text l Audiobook
Warning: Takes place after Season five with references through Season seven
Pairings: Dean/Castiel, Sam/Sarah
Disclaimer: Do not own
Summary: It’s the war to save the world. Angels, demons, and hunters are all forced to reconcile if any of them are to stand a chance of having a future. Why they all expect the Winchesters to lead them, Dean has no idea, but hunting things and saving people… well, that is the family business.

Title: Second Childhood
Files: Text l Audiobook
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: mild language
Spoilers: All of seasons four and five
Summary: "Dude, I can't do this whole thing by myself," Dean said with far more desperation leaking into his tone than he liked. It would just be too much to make it through hell and death and Lucifer only to have Castiel bail on him because of a frigging baby.

Title: So Glad We Made It
Files: Text
Rating: R
Genre: AU, friendship, angst, fluff, pining, jealousy, first time
Rating: R/Mature
Summary: At twelve years old Dean makes a friend, who becomes his best friend, who will eventually become the love of his life.

Title: Start Quoting Shakespeare and We're Done
Files: Text l Audiobook
Fandom/Genre: Supernatural AU
Pairing(s): Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 15k
Warnings: Gleeful profanity, rampant rom-com scenarios, and a decided lack of porn.
Summary: In which Dean has the hots for a librarian named Cas, Cas may or may not have the hots for a mechanic named Dean, and Gabriel joins Sam in the peanut gallery in the hopes that he might just get to do a horizontal tango of his own.

Title: These Are Not Real Problems
Files: Text

Pairing/Characters: Dean/Castiel, Sam, others
Genre: Future fic, first time, angst, hurt/comfort
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Summary: Castiel used to be a god. Dean took that away from him, and now Castiel's stuck in a hell of his own making. Futurefic, post-Season 6.

Title: Thursday's Child
Files: Text l Audiobook
Pairings: future!Dean/future!Cas, Cas/OFC
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Thursday’s child has far to go.
Notes: Spoilers for 5.04, 'The End'. So I got to wondering: what would have happened if past!Dean hadn’t turned up in 2014, and future!Dean had actually succeeded in killing Lucifer with the Colt? Apparently, it involves lots of angsting. Who knew?
Warnings: This is future!Castiel, so be prepared for Castiel/OFCs, drug use and alcohol abuse (hey, it’s all canon!). In addition there’s the odd bit of violence, some whump, muchas porning and very brief implied non-con (nothing graphic at all). Please be warned if you don’t like death!fics that this story is set after Dean had to kill Lucifer!Sam, so clearly there’s (a) no Sam and (b) some mourning. On the bright side, though, there's also a guest appearance from a real-life Hollywood star! (Well, sort of.)

Title: This Story Was Brought To You By Our Sponsors
Format: Text
Characters/Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Anna, OCs, Claire, Sam, Bobby, God, Michael, Gabriel, Lucifer, Zachariah, Jo, Ellen, implied Dean/other, implied Castiel/other, Sam/Sarah.
Genre: Futurefic, romance, drama, angst, shmoop, non-graphic angelpreg, kidfic
Summary: Dean's post-apocalyptic life is a friggin' soap opera. Romance! Angst! Separations! Reunions! Pizza Dinners! A Child Dean Never Knew He Had! It's all very dramatic.
Spoilers: Everything up to 5x14.
Warning: A likely blasphemous take on God. That's normal for the SPN fandom, but better state it up front.
Rating: R/Mature

If you haven't heard them yet, check out "Apotheosis" and "Negotiating with Terrorists"! They're both Dean/Cas and some of my favourites :)
